Your Pomeranian will go through many
changes in his coat the first year......
At 8-10 weeks of age, which is normally when a puppy is ta=
ken
to his new home, the puppy is a little ball of "FLUFF". Then star=
ting
at 12-16 weeks, the puppy will go through what breeders refer to as "P=
UPPY
UGLIES" or "POM UGLIES". They will lose most of their fluffy
coat, leaving then looking very awkward, and well....ugly. It is the natural
loss of their puppy coat and the new adult coat coming in at the same time =
that
causes this affect. It is the awkward stage of adolescents between the ages=
of
3 and 7 months. You will wonder if there was a mix up of sorts, and if the
puppy you purchased isn't a Full Blooded Pomeranian. You will wonder if you
have a mixed breed. I can assure you I have been through this stage many ti=
mes
with the raising of all my Poms. (Except for maybe
"ACE". I don't think Ace was ever ugly!) By the time your
little one is 10-12 months of age, he will have the makings of a beautiful
coat, just like his mommy and daddy.
All Pomeranians go through this, and though it is not alwa=

pretty, rest assured that they will grow out of it and be the beautiful
Pomeranian you were looking for.
